My mom had a Datsun 240Z back in the early 70s. I wish she kept that car.

You don’t see many around these days because they weren’t very good against the elements. Rusted out

Love all the s30's but the 260z and 280z's are my favs. Good looks and a sturdier frame.

This pic is from when I first bought it. I went on to put nice wheels on it, a front air dam, and louvres over the back window. It looked cool and it was pretty fast. I got it up to 140mph on the NJ turnpike once. The speedometer went up to 160 but I never got it there.

That was one hell of a car. Look up the Z1 model. It was awesome.

My dad almost bought one of these when I was little. In the end, he went with something else because our local Datsun dealer wouldn't budge on price.

Several years down the road, one of my uncles bought one. His was a 2+2 with an automatic, but 11-year-old me still thought Uncle Jim's car was pretty neat. And that was actually one of a few sports cars Jim owned. My mom has a picture of him somewhere standing in front of his TR-3, and I also got to ride in a first-gen RX-7 he owned. Many, many years down the line, I got to return the favor by taking him out for a spin in my Miata. At the time he said he was thinking of buying one.
