I loved those things in the 80s. Never made me want to smoke, nor have I.

I remember seeing these in vending machines at a few campgrounds. Tasted chalky but I felt badass.

I was given hours of old 8mm home video from my grandparents and have slowly started to upload the footage.

Picture is a screenshot enhanced with Topaz Photo AI.

Footage was taken somewhere in Victoria, British Columbia during the 1950s.

The little girl sitting has a distinctive coat that looks like one I’m wearing in photos taken when I was about her age. My pic would have been around 1958 or so.

We kids used to pretend to smoke with those candy cigarettes. I guess they were outlawed some years ago because I haven't seen them in quite some time.

I clearly remember walking to the family-owned, small neighborhood market in the mid-1950s & buying them. We definitely thought were were cool. Yikes.

I put candy cigarettes in my 4 year olds pinata for his birthday. That was a mistake. He now comes up to me and says he wants a cigarette. I shutter everytime. I wish I wouldn't have done that.

Could have been worse, you could have put in a dime bag like I did for my nephews birthday. A 37 year old wanting a piñata at their birthday party is strange enough but also inviting your parole officer? That’s first time offender stupid!
