Yes he was standing on the flight deck and saw that 1st Zuni rocket and all the chaos and devastation that followed. This photo was taken 3 days before the fire.

Yes, he survived the fire, but he will tell you that day has never truely escaped him. So terrifying. He was only 20 years old when the fire happened.

No I'm just saying that its a Bedeviler bird on the USS FORESTAL. You were correct. I was with VF-74 when they were F14 Tomcats.
