I don't think anyone's scared of economic success. They are however scared of brutal, repressive regimes with a history of bringing about the deaths of millions of their own people and minorities.

And when those regime's start flexing their muscles.. well we know how that goes, don't we

I think we're long beyond the point that this is a remotely controversial comment.

As we well know, the US as well as the UK and others have fucked the middle east and countless other smaller countries, and we pay the price daily.

But I'd take a world dominated by the US over one dominated by China or Russia every fucking day of the week.

US and UK definitely play their part but I'd argue the repressive religious governments in most of these countries are more at fault
