40+ years later and they're still the only all female band to play their own instruments and write their own songs to have a #1 album.

Yes, but The Runaways never had a number 1 album. That’s the difference.

Yeah. They should have had one for “Queens of Noise” IMO, but I guess that wasn’t meant to be.

Indeed. They are a great band.

Another fun fact: they returned the towels they used for the cover of their first album to Macys. Someone out there might have bought them and had them in bathroom without knowing

I call BS. That's clearly Negasonic Teenage Warhead on the right.

If they made a Deadpool movie back then, she would have been a great choice for N.T.W.

In 2001 I had a 90 day TDY (Temporary Duty) at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. The Go-Go's came there and did a show. I was with a group of people who set up and tore down the stage. Then we stayed for the performance. Afterwards we met them and I got some autographs (don't know where they are now). I remember listening to them when I joined the Air Force in 1981 and then seeing them in 2001. To me, they didn't look like they were 20 years older (especially Jane).
