My grandpa being the decorated in 1942 for saving what was left of the cruiser Trento’s crew the, sunk during the allied operation Harpoon. He was a machinist engineer. At that point of the war nothing would have changed, probably more allied would have died since the German would have had completely took over the defense of Italy prior to Operation Husky. Doesn’t matter which government takes hold in Italy we can always count on the incompetence of our leaders haha
