Not sure if it's the reflection from the glass or what, but at first glance I thought your dad had his butt on his front. A front butt.

Very groovy house. Hope the chairs suited him ok.

Question: did they stay hippie or did they become more conservative over time?

It looks like your dad's Wang is blurred out. Thank you for that. Strange picture... (After zooming in, I realize it's a window reflection)

A snapshot of the standard Baby Boomer homeowner at 21YO in 1974, about to piss away the ethos of the hippies and replace it with being conspicuously-consuming yuppies under Reagan.

Not OP but my hippie rural Appalachian parents stayed liberal. They however did fade from being hippies and got office jobs in the early 80's when I was born to afford a kid.

Your dad looks like a cross between John Denver and Ray Manzarek.

Imagine a time when people could be hippies and own a house like that...sigh.

as Dylan and others pointed out, Death of a Free Festival (Bowie), it was a scene interrupted by financial opportunism and social fraud

just like every other scene before and after. I was With It, once; but they changed what It was. Now everything's weird and scary to me... And it'll happen to yoooou

I’m from rural Appalachia and there is a place a lot of hippies used to live here called hippie hollow. Just thought this might be interesting to OP and have no where to go with this
