Unfortunately, I was laid off from my job and Wednesday was my last day. Per the instructions on the UI website, I filed Thursday. Do I need to file my next weekly claim THIS Sunday or next Sunday? I can’t find anything on the website to address this.

Also, I’m wondering how exactly the weekly activity works. I notice on the worksheet they give you a space for an email address and phone number for job applications, but in my experience applying for jobs on LinkedIn and indeed doesn’t provide that kind of contact info. Will that matter? I mean I’m legitimately not cheating the system and have been applying for closer to 8-10 jobs per week, they just don’t give you contact info.

I experienced this same situation recently, and I never was able to get a clear answer even after talking with someone.

I would wait til next week to file because if you file this Sunday you will have to report that you earned wages from your employer this week and it will break everything, or at least it did for me.

I was let go on a tuesday, opened my claim on a Wednesday and filed my first weekly claim that Sunday. In the claim it asks if you earned any wages that week, and because I worked Monday and part of Tuesday I answered yes and submitted. The first week is a "waiting week" that you don't get paid for so I wasn't anticipating anything. Then when I went to file the next week it said my claim was under review. I was still able to file every week but it kept saying it was under review. After leaving a few voicemails someone finally called me back and they manually moved it out of review and I got all my back pay.

As for the weekly job search requirements, in my experience no one will ever ask about it or will you ever have to show proof. Just make sure you have registered in the job search portal.

Where were you able to see that your claim was under review? Also how did you get to where you can leave voicemails? I just got a busy signal

I believe it says it right after you submit your weekly. Normally it says "you should expect to receive payment this week" also I think there is a weekly certification history page where you can see the status of all of your filings.

You need to get past the busy signal and get onto the hold system and there should be an option to get a call back.

Your best bet is to find your local state rep and call, or better yet visit, their office. They have internal help line numbers and can get a resolution much quicker.

You file Every Sunday! If you don’t file after your waiting week, you will not get paid.

But I’m in my waiting week currently. My last day of work was this Wednesday, so I filed yesterday (this essay.) I’m just not sure if I file again this Sunday since it’s the end of my waiting week.

Read the information in your dashboard. It tells you everything you need to know.

You’ll file this Sunday but it is very possible you earned too much in three days of work for this to count as your waiting week.

Take your UC benefit and add 30%, that’s your combination rate. If your gross earnings for the week are under that figure, it’s a good waiting week. If it’s over, won’t count as your waiting week.

Call your state rep and have them put in an inquiry to the Department of Labor. My partner has been trying to go through the claims process, but the portal has been a nightmare. When he goes to the link to submit his weekly info, it says, "You can't put anything here until January 15th." It's been over a month, and it still says that.

Their suggestion was to call our state rep and do what I mentioned above. Our state rep's team also confirmed this has been a constant problem.
