yeah maybe just maybe they were.

edit: well, actually:

https://www.cbsnews.com/pittsburgh/news/butler-county-penn-township-house-fire-renfrew-three-degree-road-smoky-porch/

>"The Butler County 911 Center received a call for a porch on fire. It was a two-story log cabin. When units arrived, it was pretty much fully involved. I know there were six occupants in the house," said Cpl. Jack D. Ripper with the Penn Township Police Department.

and then:

Longtime police officer eyes district judge post in Butler County https://triblive.com/local/valley-news-dispatch/longtime-police-officer-eyes-district-judge-post-in-butler-county/

>Butler County native and longtime Penn Township police Officer Jack D. Ripper announced his candidacy Wednesday for district judge in Southeastern Magisterial District 50-3-03. The position is being vacated by District Judge Sue Haggarty, who recently announced her retirement

And it is not all recent! This one dates to 2017:

He is also listed in online white pages as a butler area resident.

So ... Maybe not!!!

I think maybe he even seems to relish that middle initial, heh.

got pulled over by this guy once, couldn't believe it was real when I read the citation

That's a guy who insists on his middle initial being used. Also a guy who most likely is unfit for duty.

Does he have any leads in the case of the Communists who are trying to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids?

Penn Township used to have a police chief named Ed Schmuck.

He was the Chief Schmuck of the force.

I used to live in Manheim, and this does not surprise me one bit. I have nothing but a healthy disrespect for that entire PD.

Same here, not a fan of PD in general but not sure if this is the guy who helped my dad get an ambulance after a bad motorcycle accident

He knows what he’s doing by going by Jack instead of John, and using his middle initial. 🤣

Firstly, isn't Jack usually a nickname for a longer name? Secondly, if your name was Jack ripper, why would you use your middle initial?

Seems like this guy is making an effort to have people make the jokes
