Problems creating myPATH account, keeps giving me an error message.

I fill out all my information correctly and get this, won't let me create an account. I reached out to their support, but they aren't being helpful. Any ideas or experience with something similar? Trying to file my state taxes. Thanks!

I had issues trying to create an account a couple years ago. Wish I could help you. I think the site is user unfriendly. Filing your taxes online should not be so difficult.

Thanks, agreed. I am used to a different state with super user friendly tax filing to the point where it took me like 5 minutes, didn't have to enter W-2s or anything, just basically report everything from Federal taxes. I filled it out and it just random says I owe $150 and doesn't give me any description or breakdown of why/how or anything like that which seems crazy.

I got stuck on this page when I was making one for my business taxes. I’m not sure how to help your specific situation without you divulging info, but for me it was a line that was “BUSINESS NAME/LAST NAME” and it wouldn’t accept the business name for whatever reason but took my last name.

Thanks, so maybe for some reason doesn't like my last name, which is odd as my name is the same as it was at birth/registering for my SSN.

As an FYI for others, upon further research (not obvious on main pages), you can't create a myPATH account until you file taxes once in the state of PA. You can however file taxes without a myPATH account, kinda dumb they don't specify this in a more effective way. I'm assuming once I file my taxes and they are accepted i'll be able to create a new myPATH account.
