More than 1000 female student athletes compete in wrestling across the state. Just last week, Perkiomen Valley and Pennridge became the 99th and 100th high schools to add girls' wrestling programs, the minimum number for PIAA to "sanction" a sport.

Can't wait for all the people who "love freedom" to post their hate speech about this publicly on Facebook.

Oh absolutely. I guess I'm just conditioned to hear complaining whenever I see "girls" and "wrestling" in the title, hell even "girls" + "high school" in the title sets people off.

Absolutely! The kids are alright. Our local paper had a couple of good quotes from the young women who started this project and it was really inspiring.

What sport is being added for boys to make this Title IX compliant? Or does this make it so?

I think Title IX compliance is on a school by school basis. So if High School A wants to add girls wrestling they could pair it with boys wrestling or similar?

I believe that is the case, but if all schools are currently compliant with an even number of sports for boys and girls then wouldn’t they now need to add another boys sport to level it out again?
