I know it won’t be the same as living in PHX, but it’s been 4 months without Julioberto’s/Filiberto’s and I’m desperate lol.
I’m also a huge fan of Thai if anyone has any recommendations.

Hey I am from St Mary’s Pa. About an hour and 40 mins away. Try some of the taco trucks. Some are amazing, of course I don’t know any of the names.
Lebanon City has a bunch of good places. I particularly like Quesa Deea's (I think I'm misspelling that slightly but it's purposefully not spelled like quesadilla.) They've got really weird hours that aren't listed, but if you're walking/driving through the city and see it's open, check it out. It's on 422 west and I think is on the same block as House of Cards, just across the street.
Alternatively, a great pizza place is Greek Town. Massive menu and longer wait times for delivery, but if you order in or take out it's regular pizza shop speed to get your order. (They only have one, maybe two, people doing deliveries at any given time.) That's a couple blocks away on 422 east. Both of these places are local and family owned style.
La Tolteca is a chain in the general area, I'm not sure if there's one near you. You can't go wrong with some of the little family owned places in Chester County if you get out that way.
If you're willing to drive a bit, lancaster has several good Mexican restaurants

I think you should probably specify: Are you in Jonestown in Columbia Co, Jonestown in Lebanon Co, or a third Jonestown I am unaware of?
These answers might be a little varied given there are multiple Jonestowns.
I'm from here but lived in Phoenix for 10 years, and I don't know anything here that compares.
Back in Arizona
If you’re willing to drive 90 minutes there’s good Mexican food in Norristown. Closer than Phoenix, anyway.

Phoenix :) you are in Dutch Country so temper your expectations. Ray Azteca in Palmyra is good for the area.

There’s multiple Jonestowns in this state??
I’m in Lebanon County. 😊
Definitely willing to drive! We had to take our dog to an urgent care vet in Lancaster and I finally found some Boba there.
Definitely willing to drive! My wife and I are always down for an adventure.
I’ve actually been there! It was good but it just felt like something was missing. Which I know I probably won’t find lol.
I’ll give Greek Town a try! I will say the Pizza here is way better than in Phoenix.
The thought of having someone overnight me carne asada fries has crossed my mind.
Ray Azteca is actually the best I’ve found so far!
Is there anything I absolutely need to try being in Dutch Country?
I definitely will. I haven’t even seen food trucks since moving here. 😩
shoo fly pie, fresh kraut, I prefer traditional pot pie to dutchie pot pie, but you might like it, scrapple, whoopie pies, all kinds of sausage to name a few. Hit the farmer's markets and farm stands you will find all kinds of things. Laudermilch's down 422 a bit from Ray Azteca is a pretty good butcher.
We thought Ray Azteca was pretty good, especially considering what you can get at other places around here.
Edit: BTW - if you are looking for heat the Dutchies use horseradish and mustards to create a kick, although I am seeing hot peppers more and more from them the last few years.
A moderate drive but Masa or tres Hermanos in Harrisburg.
There’s an amazing Nepalese place in Lancaster too - norbu.
I used to eat at La Placita in Lebanon. He has pretty decent food. If you are in Harrisburg I would try La Estrella. I used to work with Mexican guys who would insist we did la Estrella when we were in town this was almost a decade ago though.
I wish i had recommendations but wanted to commiserate since I lived in Phoenix for 4 years before moving out here a year and half ago. I miss Filiberto’s
There are multiple Exeters and Hanovers too
Anytime I hear Jonestown I always think of the cult
Welcome fellow copper stater! Just moved here too and the struggle is real but we are finding a couple gems nearby, I'm in Alleghany co
I'm from the Reading area which is a drive for you, but there is a lot of good mexican in West Reading. This list is mostly on your side of Reading so its like a 45 min drive.
La Abuela - family run traditional dinners (probably #1 in the area)
comalli taqueria - hipster taco place
Lets Taco Bout it - more traditional taco place
Bunch of chain places too, Plaza Azteca, On the Border, Alebrije (latter is probably the best of the chains. also the smallest)
Thai Wat - Tradition and best thai around
Origen Latin Fusion - Hipster Latin food
Lancaster is amazing for so many ethnic foods, not just mexican.
Yep. Lots of refugees will do that.
That’s my local Jonestown too, but I wanted to be sure!
Rey Azteca in Palmyra.
If you're in Lancaster Co, I would highly recommend heading over to the smorgasbord in Bird in Hand. There's nothing really like PA Dutch cooking

First question, why Jonestown? Not much going on up "this neck of the woods" but great hiking trails in Swatara State Park.
As others have noted, there are lots of things to do in Lancaster and Lititz is a cool small town.
Agree that Ray Azteca is pretty good and the people are very friendly. The best Italian place I've found in the area is Lazzaro's in Palmyra. Reservations a must.
My wife and I have wanted to move back east for awhile now and couldn’t decide where. Found out my grandma needed some help so this is where we landed for now.
It’s definitely been an adjustment living in such a small town but it’s close to so many places we visit and want to visit (DC, NY, NY, etc).
We’d love to find a more LGBTQ friendly area to visit though lol.
We went to Lancaster this weekend for the market! We ate at Cocina Mexicana. It was actually really really good. The closest I’ve found so far.
I noticed! I loved grabbing middle eastern food in Phoenix and we found some in Lancaster. Super happy about that.
I keep hearing that. What is PA Dutch cooking?
Well although Lancaster County is quite a religious county (lots of Amish and Mennonite folk), Lancaster City is quite artsy and definitely supports the LGBTQ community. If you're not familiar with Lebanon County, it's a bit "rural" shall we say, but most people are very friendly. It's one of the fastest growing counties which can be good and bad.
Pennsylvania Dutch, those are the Amish and the Mennonite. Some of the most delicious fried chicken, shoo-fly pie, chow chow, whoopee pies, pot pies, and so much more. Just be careful driving around the countryside there, lots of horse and buggies. They'll have red reflective triangles.
Start a side hustle. You could crush it in PA cooking up some frybread, Sonoran hot dogs and prickly pear.

Hopefully you'll find something you like! ^-^ Welcome to the neighborhood!
Born and raised in Lebanon but it's been a decade since I've lived there. My parents do. A quick Google search will lead you to a handful of restaurants in town, which should be no more than a 15 minute drive from jonestown. Queso dee'as has been there for quite some time but I never been. The other names I see I don't recognize.
Report back with your favorite so I can go next time I'm visiting.
Not tacos but Lebanon is also home to some world class pretzels. Check out Shuey's if you enjoy pretzels. Soft pretzels are Sunday only and a big deal.

I've heard Luna Azteca is decent. But it probably doesn't hold a candle to whst you're used to.
