I have a group of 8 22-27 year old guys. We want to get a lakeside house for a long weekend this summer. Anyone have suggestions for places that are really pretty, where we could canoe, fish, swim and hike? We don’t wanna drive more than like 4-5 hours ideally.

Haha unfortunately it’s not big enough for 8 full adults but there’s plenty that are! Our house is Owasco Lake, it’s the smallest and chillest lake but Skineatles has lots of options too

Wallenpaupack will be a good bet as far as getting a house to fit that many people though it can be pricey. It’s a popular destination although if you get on the water early in the day it should be fairly quiet. There’s a hiking trail in the NW side of the lake and Bushkill Falls is fairly close by.

Lake Harmony is such a self contained place in the Poconos. Restaurants/bars right there & you can get to Jim Thorpe for a little different scene. Also Hickory Run State Park is right there as well. All within a 1/2 hour of each other.
