We are looking for a place where our families can meet (mine are in OH and hers are from PA) and get married. We do not want a traditional weeding, however, and will have our friend officiate us. We just plan on renting out a large house/mansion for 2 days or a cluster or cabin-style houses for the two days for our families. We prefer it to be in Western PA but it honestly doesn't matter. Open to suggestions and thanks!

Countryside Cottages, in Bartonsville, Pa. It’s in the pocono region, but it’s exactly what you’re looking for. It’s cabins of various sizes. There’s also a pool and nice space to hold a wedding. The maintenance is on site, so they can assist with anything you need 24 hours. Here’s the website:

Check out Savage River Lodge. It's in Western Maryland but close to PA border. We stayed there a few years ago and it was lovely. They do weddings too.

Lake Raystown Resort) has a little horseshoe of lakeside villas that I’ve used for huge family gatherings in the summers. There’s like 25 of them and they comfortably sleep four people each.

Pretty affordable off season.

There are some beautiful venues around State College are. The arboretum at Penn State would be a beautiful spot too when everything is in bloom.

Calling back to this because I just thought of something else: if you’re planning on getting married there you should check out the Proud Mary. It’s an old paddle boat that is pretty cool. I’m sure they could accommodate a wedding ceremony/reception and it’s right there on the lake.

Good luck!
