State cops will pull you over for window tint as an excuse, if they feel like it. City and County cops don’t give a shit.

That is 100% why you got pulled over. They only use it as an excuse. I have limo tint on my sedan and I’ve never once been pulled over because I only drive to pickup my kids from school.
