Hi everyone, I am in central PA.
Any recommended self-drive route or trail to enjoy the red fall foliage?
I can accept the trip less than 3 hours, max 4 hours.
Also, what time would be a good time?

If you are doing this, I'd highly recommend Booking amtrak to Pitt, and spending the night, and make the return the next day. Its beautiful
Any mountain road is great right now. For your area, any that go over the Allegheny Front have nice views- I-80 near Snow Shoe, 144 paralleling it, 504 toward Black Moshannon, Beaver Road, 322, etc.
Edit: Wait I just recommended black mo to this same person on another sub for another reason a few weeks ago. That’s funny.

Just stick to the mountains. The valleys are still waiting to change. Hit up 80 and choose east or west.

Just drove on route 192 around Raymond B Winter State Park in Union County this past weekend. Gorgeous.
Northeast PA and North Central PA are where you'll see the most red leaves.
Not sure what direction you're driving from, but trees aren't hard to find anywhere in the state.
Drive up to Scranton.

Perry/ Juniata here. We don't have a ton of red, but the rest is changing.
