good luck, they gerrymandered my town into a dark blue district to help protect that asshole's seat. At least he's not my rep anymore.

Meuser is in the US Congress not in the State House, I suggest you call and leave a message with someone in his D.C. office (though honestly phone, website contact form messages and email messages all go to the same black hole to be ignored).

Eta: sorry if that sounded snippy, just wanted to warn that the email address would be different for congressman Meuser

That's how 100% of Representatives in DC do it. If you want to talk to him directly, best option is to call his scheduler and set up a meeting, or else arrange to see him at a public event.

Lucky. I live 3 or 4 miles from my parents, and they just got redrawn out of the district while we're still stuck with him. We might be somewhat in the same neighborhood.

Second most blood red district in the state. But just barely. One of two R districts where the people who voted to throw out all Pennsylvanians' votes received over 70 percent of the vote last week. His seat's been a minimum of R+45 since he first got in back in 2018. His seat doesn't need protecting, and it's his until he decides he doesn't want it anymore. It's deep deep deep deep red, and stupidly large. I live at the very Southern edge of the district... our concerns here share very little, if anything, with those on the PA/NY border... I could get in the car and drive for 3 ½ hours and still be within the district.

As much of an abject shithead Meuser is, I've had a fairly easy time speaking to someone at his DC office as well as his Pottsville regional office. Sure, it's just a staffer or intern, but even if you could get a "direct" email address it won't be Dan reading it. I'd be surprised if anyone other than your absolute localist politicians actually directly responded to any normal contact, be it written or by phone.

Can you find him on social media? I mean, not his personal profile but on Twitter, IG, or a FB page? If so, I would start hitting that up as it's a public forum and would reflect badly on him to not respond.

He's a total waste though, I know of local police officers that went to him about very important aspects of their job, uniforms, etc. that they needed help with and he completely blew them off. Even as far as to lying that he never spoke to them when he was face-to-face with them again at a local community event. I do believe he helped to keep the factory at the top of town, in Ashland going, though. But, let's be honest, it was so obvious he did it just to get votes and for the news coverage. (as all politicians do)

As I tell others, "Anything you can do in Microsoft Windows you can do better in Linux".

To answer your questions and get back on topic I'll keep it short here:

  1. Browsers do work the same
  2. VPN's work excellent. I use NordVPN
  3. Steam is native to Linux
  4. I use multiple video players, although I find that VLC works best for my needs
  5. I can multiple streams open at the same time without any problems. In Windows this isn't possible
  6. A very easy beginner distribution http://www.linuxmint.com Multiple others can be found at distrowatch.com
  7. Search Reddit or Facebook for Linux support groups
