Just letting everyone know that tonight and tomorrow will be good viewing opportunities for viewing the ISS. I recently moved here from Texas and I work remotely for NASA on the ISS program. I always try to catch the ISS flyover and I thought I would share this opportunity with folks in my new community.

Tonight's flyover (Saturday, Nov 19th) will be coming from the Southwest at around 6:04 PM - about 64 degrees maximum angle from the horizon. I'm getting my times from Lansdale in Eastern PA, but other parts of PA might be a few minutes earlier - So check the link below! Other times and dates might work better for Western PA. The link below will project out about 10 days, and good viewing opportunities only come around about once per month.

Tomorrow's viewing will be slightly better if weather conditions are similar - ISS will appear at 5:15PM with a maximum viewing angle of 72 degree from the horizon - so almost directly over head. I don't know which direction it will be coming from, but it's always either going to be Southwest or Northwest. It will be a bright star moving at a pretty good speed across the sky. It will only be visible for less than 5 minutes or so.

If you want to know exact current location of ISS, visit: https://spotthestation.nasa.gov/tracking_map.cfm

And to find viewing opportunities for your area: https://spotthestation.nasa.gov/sightings/index.cfm

And post here if you see it - I'd like to know!

I use the NASA app. I can check on my phone to see when the sightings are for my area. It tells me the time, compass direction for the start and stop of the sighting, length of time visible, and the maximum angle above the horizon.

The app seems user friendly to me.

I didn’t know there was a NASA app! I’m a new space nerd and will have to check it out.
