Not in Harrisburg, but Issei Noodle in Lancaster is fantastic and the most similar to ramen from Japan that I’ve had on this side of the pond.

There’s an Issei in Carlisle too! Run by the same family! It’s incredible!

I knew about the one in Carlisle, but haven’t been to that location yet. Glad to hear the quality matches the Lancaster location!

I was in Carlisle for business several months and wanted to eat there with a few colleagues. I’ve never been treated worse in a restaurant in my life and we never even got seated.

Walked across the street to Yak and Yeti and had a great meal.

Cool story, bro. Yak & Yeti is great, though not for ramen. Issei is also "Seat youself" as well as a "Pay at the Counter" restaurant. They also have stopped allowing certain changes to their menu in an effort to be consistently authentic.

Correct. It is seat yourself and we never progressed any further than the front counter.

We had a group of five. It was busy, but we had as asked if we could move two smaller tables together to fit our group. One kind staff member was making sure we had a place for our group to site when the one at the register chimed in and told us that we would have to sit where the tables were. Fine, no biggie.

We had assumed that since it was pay at the counter, they would be able to give us all separate checks for our reimbursement purposes. When traveling for work, I always try to check ahead of time, as not not burden the staff after it’s all be entered into the POS system. We were told that they couldn’t do that, and we would be charged an additional gratuity for our party size. I think it was 15 or 18 percent, for a fucking party of five. We decided that the customer service in there sucks and we’d go elsewhere. The lady at the counter seemed as though we were a giant inconvenience and that she didn’t want us in the restaurant.

Yak and Yeti was busy and understaffed, but they made sure we were taken care of and we didn’t mind waiting for a quality meal.

I was greatly disappointed since I had heard how great the ramen was, but I won’t be treated like that.

There's Nagoya in Lemoyne, which is also the only place I've seen around here that serves okonomiyaki. I haven't had their ramen but everything else has been fantastic.

Wasabi bistro and Sakura Do in Hershey. And Not Japanese, but there’s a place called Pho Miss Saigon between Palmyra and Hershey, not too far from Harrisburg.

I'm sure there are, but I'm not aware of them. I do know I often see it on the menu at many Asian fusion places.

Yokohama on south 29th street. I know they have noodle dishes, but I’m not entirely sure if they specifically have ramen though. It’s an Asian fusion place.

I don’t think Harrisburg has a specifically Japanese restaurant specializing in ramen. Lived there for 10+ years and I never found one.

Shogun is probably the best sushi around and good prices. Not sure about their ramen options.

Edit: Just remembered Nagoya right across the river in Lemoyne. They have ramen for sure.
