Regular license and yellow card should be all you need. You'll have to surrender the old license to get a new one, and there is a fee, I believe. The mechanism in place is to carry the endorsement card with the license until renewal. Not positive they'll even issue a new one for the reason you state, usually you would be replacing a damaged or lost/stolen one before expiration.
