Yeah, it’s a wild life refuge. I was confused because Norman bird sanctuary is very close by as well so I thought that’s where you were talking about before!

Sachuest Point is part of the National Wildlife Refuge system - federally managed. When people on the island say The Bird Sanctuary, they mean Norman Bird Sanctuary, which is totally independent - not even part of Audubon or anything. You can see the Bird Sanctuary from 2nd Beach - that big rock/cliff thing is Hanging Rock, part of their property. They’re both beautiful areas, and very different in character - you can make a day of it and hike them both.

hang on let me check out the map......ok I see the Norman Bird Sanctuary, thats not the place Im thinking of, I went to Sachuest a bunch, I like coastal area perfection places and Sachuest definatly is.
