Local news doesn't pay. I have a close friend who is very popular on a local station and you'd be shocked at how little they make.

Providence is 52nd in the news market where as Boston is #10 which equates to nearly 10-20K difference in salary depending on station and the anchors experience.

A lot aren't. And that with a college education and years of experience. The stations make tons of money and don't pay. So of course people leave and go for a better oppotunity.

I like when Kait Walsh and Britney Trumpy are on together. They have a nice back and forth like they're genuinely friends.

If you're talking reporters they seem to cycle out after 2 years, assuming they're contracted and working thru the Nexstar system

Providence is a mid-level market. Those who are really good will move up to a top tier market. Others, like Danielle North, decided to do something else.
