City Hall in Providence is beautiful, so especially if you're able to have someone take pictures there I'd say do it.

Second this! My husband and I got married in the Aldermen Chambers. OP google Providence city hall wedding photography. You won’t be disappointed.

It doesn't have to be a court house or city hall, unless you prefer a literal city hall marriage (which absolutely dos have its charm). Anyone can be ordained by an online church, and is therefore allowed to officiate. RI rules even expressly affirm that online ordinations are totally valid. If you're cool, I can do it for you!

Then you just need two witnesses and you're good to go.

I wanted this but my husband was not on board. We settled for a micro wedding at hotel Providence with about 25 people for under $5k

Not sure when this was, but prices are up a lot post covid/inflation hikes (not sure on this venue in particular). Just worth mentioning prices have exploded, so OP might be in a different ballpark.

My wife and I decided we didn't want a big wedding. We'd both been married before and it's just headache, hassle and expense. We went to Kent County Courthouse, spent $200 and was done in an hour. My son and step-daughter attended/witnessed.

We spent 4 nights at Foxwoods and had a small gathering at my In-laws house. I don't think we went over $1,000 all told.

Best decision we could have made.

I think I just said this in another thread. Drove up to the temple of music. It was COVID times so we couldn’t really do much, did a gondola ride after (outdoors). The only ppl present was officiant, partner’s parents and two sisters, our witnesses, and a cousin (and whole lot of ppl on zoom, we held the phone on a tripod). We still have the money we saved in an account and waiting for the right time to buy a house. AND we have gorgeous photos. No regrets ❤️

Not here, but my husband and I got married at city hall in Manhattan. Best decision we ever made.

I eloped and had a reception afterwards. It was nice because there wasn’t any pressure on either day. For our wedding we were able to focus on each other and have a really special memory, that’s just for us. For the reception, it was just a fun party. We weren’t worried about anything going wrong, because we were already married.

I got a justice of the peace to meet us in the park where I asked her out when we were teens. Then we drove to Montreal for our honeymoon. Easy peasy cheap & breezy
