Adding a comment and an updoot because my curly-headed son is growing his hair out and also needs someone to help give him a bit better shape.

Why not try Fantastic Sam’s on Killingly in Johnston? It’s a franchise it seems, but really feels like a local spot. I’ve been going there for over 25 years and my whole family has been through there. My parents actually still go there, and my sister goes from time to time. I go back there when I need a cut and I’m visiting my parents, and they cut all styles. I always like my cut from there. Worth a shot. Terri is the one that has cut my hair that whole time. I even took my fiancée there and she said she liked the cut she got, and I’ve seen her pay $150 for just a cut various times. She was with me and did it on a whim, but it worked out.

For ~$20, you can get a good men’s cut.

Lavish Salon specializes in curly hair cuts, they are on the pricier side though

How much are you looking to take off, would you say? Are you looking for a shears only haircut? Where are you located?

Beyoutiful Salon. The owner Liz is very good at cutting curly hair. I have mid back length 3C type curly hair. She does dry cut. Very good with layers and keeping the hair healthy. I pay $40 for a cut (with or without a wash after the cut)

Kings Barber Shop in Attleboro or Seekonk is great for men's hair. I've seen them do various styles.
