You can always ask a friend to do it. Just have them go online and become an ordained priest through universal life church. I’ve done 2 marriages so far for family members. Easy. And you can have someone important to both of you perform the ceremony. Either way congrats. Good luck!
For a wedding? Justices of the Peace in Rhode Island aren’t permitted to officiate weddings. There are plenty of good non-denominational officiants though, and just about anyone can get a one-day license to perform a wedding ceremony.
I got ordained for my friends wedding and have ended doing four weddings so far. Didn't cost me anything, I'm sure a friend would do the same for you (assuming your asking about a wedding). I'll do it for free if you need it in a pinch.
