Interests include Bob Dylan, UPS, and discussing his curved penis.

It might not be RI'ers that are the problem, pal.

Meetup groups are good I met some great people thru that. Other than that see if you can found a common interest group at a local library or hang around events in providence

D&D, Magic Card Nights, Pokemon Nights, etc.. Frequent your Card shops. You tend to sit directly across from a variety of people. Dive head first into various activities, see if one catches your interest and wins you over.

Bring a prop with you when you leave your residence. Use prop in public. People ask you about the prop who are interested in said prop.

So let's discuss interesting prop ideas one could bring with to use in a public setting to attract interactions to develop relationships.

I'll go first, a jar of peanut butter

I was there last night for a free show at the lounge. I didn't spend any $$ nor would I have but the people watching opportunities were at pre-covid levels. I hadn't been in at least a decade and I hope it's another decade before I return. Sheesh what a trainwreck.

I find most nice people in the western part of the state, places like Coventry, West Greenwich, Exeter, Foster, Hopkinton and Gloster. Also, Tiverton and Little Compton in the east has very nice people. This is my honest answer as I find most city folk a little harsh at times.

I met lots of great neighbors through volunteering. There's a Cozy Rhody group that picks up trash. The PNPP.org plants trees in spring and fall. You can volunteer at theaters, like Wilbury, and get to see a show for free.

I met some good friends through Meetup. Join groups that interests you. There's a great beer group, a few great hiking groups, etc.

Get a dog. You'll meet plenty of people if it's an approachable dog. I take mine for walks in my neighborhood, and to the Hope Street Farmers Markets.

Go to The Flea and farmers market. They're free to browse. Lots of good people there.
