I just looked this place up looks pretty cool looks like the food is decent too. What type of crowd is it? Is there any trouble there ever? And also is it dancing or just like a chill relaxing environment?

Askew is super chill. Depending on the show you get a crowd in the center of the room and there’s tables and seats at the bar

I know this is not exactly on topic, but man I miss the battle of the bands BRU used to put on. I feel like that last one was 15 years ago. RIP BRU.

Blackstone River Theater in Cumberland is an absolute gem for bringing in outstanding Celtic/folk/world music from an array of areas both locally and globally. I realize that may not be to everyone’s taste and you may only be interested in the scoop on local bands and musicians but it’s such a great venue I have to spread the word when I can.

We played at the Matunuck Pub on Friday and we’re starting to get gigs lined up for the summer. We’ll be outdoors at Shaidzon Beer Co in late April!

Traveling Empire is playing at Dusk on March 6th. They have an east coast rock feel. Very chill sound, great lyrics

I catch shows at Askew and Dusk all the time. Lot of smaller and/or local punk and metal bands play at those two and always a good time.

Follow the FB page Local Music Watch New England. Listing of dozens of shows are usually published on Thursdays, many of these are free shows. I don't mind paying for top notch musicians too.

Applebees I’m garden city use to have two young guys come into the bar on I think Wednesday nights and sing live music they reminded me of that group oasis or something like that they were good. Does anyone remember this was probably about 2009-10 that I’m thinking. Does anyone know any low key music like this that’s not at an actual club but just a restaurant or lounge?
