Anthony's Seafood in Middletown does a nice job with them.

Not really a RI thing, but places do fried oysters.

I’m more partial to raw bar (and it’s way more common in RI), but Benjamin’s in Newport has pretty good oysters Rockefeller/oyster stew.

I’m definitely more of a fried clam person, but my partner loves the fried oysters at Matunuck Ouster Bar

The Den Den fried chicken restaurant in Providence had fried oysters that were really good. Not sure if they still have them on the menu...

We're not big on the frying of seafood. Best fresh oysters: Matunuck Oyster Bar, Midtown Oyster Bar, DeWolf Tavern, Providence Oyster Bar, and Two Ten.

I appreciate oysters prepared in many ways, I can't believe nobody fries them here.

That's true, they are! Pretty much the only thing I see regularly fried, other than fish & chips

Is that the royal "we" or are you speaking for RI?

There's a ton of fried seafood, have you never had a clam cake? fried. Clam strips? Fried. Anything from iggys in general? fried.

Actually matunuck oyster bar has awesome fried oysters.

Thanks...seemed like some were shaming me for daring to enjoy a fried oyster in addition to many other presentations of the oyster.

Fried oysters aren’t really a specialty RI food compared to other more popular seafood items.

Asking who has the best fried oysters is like asking who has the best salads. It’s not really something people rank or restaurants are known for.

That being said they are on the menu at plenty of restaurants and you have received some good recommendations.

Funny enough for newport at least, you can pretty much go anywhere and they're usually the same thing because they mostly come from the same places. Don't sleep on the lobster bar raw bar plus you get a view. It's more of a price thing at that point so I'd add benjamins and lobster bar to that list just because they'll be around the same price if not cheaper

Edit: forgot kampanaars, they're more clam bake but still solid
