Hi all, i’m pretty new to film photography and was wondering if anyone knew of any shops I could buy 35mm film from. I would much rather buy from a local shop than amazon.

Kerry’s in Warwick. She can process and scan it in house too! Lightening fast turnaround too.
If you’re shooting on a small aperture or half-frame then kerry’s is fine. If you need higher quality then go to hunts.
Wrong and doesn’t even make sense. Aperture has nothing to do with the scan quality lol.
Just throwing it out there: AS220 used to have a community dark room anyone could use -- no idea if they still do, but if so it might be fun to shoot some b&w and try it out
camera werks on hope st also has a selection of 35mm and 120 film

what is camer
Best Buys sells 35mm film. They’re next to the CDRs. Warning: Best Buy employees will have no idea where they are or that they still sell them
They send it out though, it’s not done in house.

Even if you don’t buy local you’re better off buying directly from B&H, Adorama, Freestyle, etc. I haven’t heard the best things about buying film on Amazon
I would highly recommend Westerly camera and dark room. Local shop, geat owner, he could probably help you out.
They also take the best passport photos I’ve ever seen. I hadn’t showered in days and I probably actually looked terrible in person. I look like a freaking model in my photo, it’s phenomenal
Love this place. Super nice lady that runs it.
this is the way
Kerry is a gem. She offered me some good advice after I brought her a couple absolute messes of 120 rolls when I was first starting out and even refused to charge me for the first one because she wanted me to get better first. I will only go to her shop as long as it's open, she beats Hunts on film prices too. Worth noting that she doesn't do black and white but anyone else around here just sends it out anyway. Neither Hunt's nor CameraWerks develop in house and have a 2ish week turnaround, while Kerry has same day (often same hour depending on the order) turnaround for cheaper.
Not to diss on Camera Werks, she's very nice as well.

Hunts in Providence sells film. Local chain. They will process too, sending the film to their flagship store in Melrose, MA for development.
