For 10 years I lived in a home that had a stone wall on 2 of the 4 property boundaries. Honest. Not making it up. I did not move one rock. Loved and respected those walls.

People doing stuff all the time doesn't mean it's legal. Historic stone walls are mentioned in RI law, it would be best to read them yourself to figure out exactly how changing them needs to be done, and also get your shit surveyed to figure out where the actual property line is. Does the deed state the wall is owned by both property owners?
