Just say no to Alan Fung. No!

Well Fung does guzzle a tall glass of coffee milk and puts his socks on one foot at a time just like me!
I’ve never seen Seth Magaziner wear a reflective vest and a hard hat and stand next to laborers. Not once in MY LIFE

Fung is a moderate. Besides, large parts of CD2 voted for Trump in 2020, trying to associate Fung with Trump will only make him more popular in CD2

Fung takes Cranston bigly. Subtract the Cranston numbers from CD2 for Trump and figure all those going to Fung + Cranston.

And Fing was at the inauguration wearing a Trump hat. I don't care what he says. Recent events have shown you can tell when a Republican is lying. They open their mouths.

This poll was taken by telephone. When was the last time you knew anyone under the age of 50 to pick up an unsolicited phone call? Let alone go on to answer questions posed by a complete stranger?
They should just call it what it is. A boomer poll. They identified the biggest issue to those polled was cost of living, outweighing Roe by a large margin. This is prime boomer pearl clutching. They are watching their retirement plans getting discounted right before they head down to their second homes in Florida. Totally willing to sell out their kids and grandkids if it means they don't have to cut back on their tee times.

Are you too angry to tell when someone is on your side?
My point was this was not a poll of young people. It is not my fault your generation is filled with (But not entirely comprised of) selfish assholes who took everything that was handed to them and turned their backs on everyone that came after.
I don't know why you are mad at me for pointing either of those things out if they don't apply to you?
The most astonishing fact is that you know a 40 year old that picked up the phone and answered questions for a poll. I think that would make them an outlier. Take a poll (In person) of 10 millennial's and ask them how they feel about phone calls. It's not neutral.

No they were intentional. But if they don't apply to you, why are you taking them so personally?
Individual-Doubt404 t1_irfax6m wrote
You intentionally insulted me up until you realized your insults don't apply to me and now I'M at fault for taking you to task? What if you, yes I'm looking at you u/prosaicnation , stop playing helpless victim to boogie man Boomers and answer an unsolicited call or two during polling season. It's the prosaic thing to do.
[deleted] t1_irfdefe wrote
How is it insulting if it doesn't apply to you? That is a logical error. It either applies to you and you can be insulted or it doesn't and you can just go on your merry way. It was intentionally insulting to the group of people it applies to, of whom there are MANY as evidenced by the amount of downvotes I am getting.
Never once did I make myself the helpless victim. My point, as I will say again, is that these polls are inherently weighted to OLD PEOPLE due to the very nature of how they conduct them. And as we know OLD PEOPLE make up the majority of republican voters.
Let's make up a new poll for boomers. A hypothetical- would you rather.
- would you rather give up 10% of your social security to ensure the program lasted for the next 4 generations?
or
- Keep your entire payment knowing that the entire system would fail for the next generation who had already spent most of their working lives paying into the system?
You can vote any way you like but don't tell me you don't already know the way that vote would go down.

Oh I think we know the answer to that. It'd be the same, even if pharma and other consumer industries were reigned in. They're all terrified of death, but their collective fear of losing their own personal American dream is much more palpable. They feel entitled to the niceties of their parents, regardless of reality. Mind you that this is a reality that lawmakers of their generation are fighting tooth and nail to further. It's an ouroboros of boomer/early gen x trash.

Fung will vote with republicans on a federal abortion ban and every other backwards issue they can come up with. There are no moderate republicans at this point.

Fung's lead is likely more. Fung will win Cranston bigly. He just will. Accept it. He has the ground game and organization and good will from being Mayor there. In 2018's gov race, Fung was beat pretty good statewide but he took Cranston by a wide margin. Fung's wife also wins easily in her Cranston races. So Fung wins Cranston, and then splits Warwick, and the race is over. There are not enough D votes in SK & the rest of the district. If the poll weighed the population centers of Cranston, Warwick, and SK more, his lead would be more.

Idk. There’s a lot of white, wealthy Democrats living near the coast in South County. Mail voting makes it easier to show up for the election. But if they can’t be bothered to mail in a ballot, then you would be correct. And you are right about Cranston.

Magaziner should have just stayed in the Governor’s race. Our political landscape turned into a real cluster fuck this year.
After running a polling place during the primaries I now have a better understanding of the voters in the state and it’s kind of scary. People really will just vote for the guy in the commercial.
