Hello! Hope this is allowed in this sub, but living in Rhode Island currently. I have my dog on Purina ProPlan EN Gastrointestinal Diet (veterinary diet) and Honest Kitchen rehydrated food. Well...my girl is officially in congestive heart failure and I am switching her to a cardio diet, but the dilemma is that I just purchased a new (opened but mostly full) 32lb bag of the Purina EN, and a box of the Honest Kitchen Turkey rehydrated food (also opened but mostly full). I have contacted shelters but since they are opened they will not take them as a donation.

I'd hate to toss them, so reaching out to see if anyone is in need of this specific dog food, or that could just use it in general. Willing to drop it off (within reason, I'm near Warwick) or can meet somewhere. No payment needed, just wanted to help!

That’s very kind of you. I don’t have dogs (I have cats instead). I am sorry to hear the news about your girl. I hope you spoil her rotten in the time she has left.

Thanks that is kind of you to say, and she is definitely a spoiled girl! Hoping her heart meds will improve her quality of life so we can have more time together.

Hi! If you're a member of a buy nothing page on Facebook I would post there as well or on Nextdoor as you can contact your neighbors more directly.

Give your pup lots of snuggles ❤️

Have you ever heard of “Buy Nothing” groups of FB? Very useful for sharing unwanted items without wasting them. Each town has its own group.

I’m in Warwick and my dog eats the pro plan, haven’t done the honest kitchen yet though, I’d gladly take it with much appreciation
