Fall is the best time to visit RI in my opinion. The weather is great, no tourist crowds and everyone is in a good mood.

We lucked out on weather but I think everyone had the same idea. There were lots of people. Plus there was a Boy Scout thing at Fort Adams yesterday. We couldn’t find a place to park. I am glad I made dinner reservations before we went.

It is beautiful, isn't it? I moved here as an adult and have never once regretted my choice. We're so lucky.

From what little I have seen it is. We usually go to Newport 3-4 times a year. Very relaxing.

I was born in Latin America. I have traveled the world and spent a lot of time in LA and Florida; still, Rhode Island is the best. It does feel very "homey."

>I love going to the supermarket, and somewhere in Rhode Island, I will see someone i know and get to say hello. I was at CCRI a few months ago and saw governor Mckee. A few weeks ago, I met Ashley Kalus. Fung, I have met as well. I also saw very upclose Gina Raymundo ... I mean, I would never experienced anything like this in LA or Florida, too huge. I love this little state!

>Its such a small state, that you are bound to know someone, who knows you or one of your relatives. Specially if you are from Craaaaaaaaaaaaanston. Rhode Island is also the state where I learn English, and when i was in LA, i was told , some of my words were very "East Coast".

I’m from California and spent 29 years of my life there, only time I saw a celebrity was on movie sets. My third week living in Rhode Island I run into Richard Jenkins in the bread aisle at freakin Dave’s.

Where did you come from and what brought you to the ocean state? What did you while you were in town? Maybe we can make some recommendations for next time!

NH. We have been going to Newport 3-4 times a year for the last few years. We love The Chanler. They have the best staff. We also like that it’s only a couple of hours from home. Plus we like the history of the mansions and try to see at least one when we visit. I will definitely ask for recommendations next time.

Some visit, I highly recommend touring Blithewold in Bristol, a beautiful mansion on the water.

A mother and daughter who lived there spent their lives bringing rare trees from their travels around the globe to plant there, like their own private arboretum. You can tour inside too.

Best times to go are around Christmas when they have events, or my favorite: springtime, when tens of thousands of daffodils bloom in their "bois" (lightly wooded areas). Idyllic.

I will definitely look into that, thank you.
