The exit numbers were changed so that they match whatever mile marker you're at. I hear it's supposed to be a nationwide change.

It’s been this way in much of the country for a long time. New England dragged its feet making the change.

I like the system. It’s going to take a while for me to remember the new numbers after a lifetime of the old, but that’s okay.
