Could it be something as simple as seasonal allergies? Like, if you were away in a completely different climate for a bit then came back in to the peak of whatever fall pollen we have around here, it could feel worse than if you were here for the whole bell curve of pollen.

Also, it has been particularly wet and humid, which must not help. I mean, I can literally see the air outside right now...

Then of course, traveling you might have been exposed to any number of cold/flu/rhino/noro/corona viruses which could have respiratory ramifications.

I take a daily Zyrtec, but I don’t know if it does much. I was stuffy before leaving, then on the trip I was 100% fine. Almost as soon as I got back to RI, wheeze. I’m wondering if it’s the humidity, mold spores or something like that.

I find it helpful to switch around my daily allergy meds every once in a while. Allegra is really good for me for at least a couple of week. I'm on levocetirizine right now (Xyzal). I would recommend them both.
