It's fine, based on what you've said in other comments I think you'll be fine. It's not Providence or other towns in the northern last of the state. It's just run down more than anything, I wouldn't say it's dangerous by any means. There's crazies in all towns. It's definitely a town in need of a renaissance. It's located with quick convenient access to 95, other built up areas in Warwick, Coventry, Cranston, etc.
