Recently there's been discussions at /r/ADHD regarding certain generic manufacturers not working well or at all.

This started earlier this year.

Anecdotal of course, but I think something is going on because in the past there was never that many posts on the same subject.

So I'm curious which manufacturer made the generic you got from Genoa; it should be printed on the side of the bottle.

I use the CVS on Reservoir in Cranston. From time to time they send me a text that it’s on order, but so far (🤞🏻) it’s always in within a couple days. Good luck out there!!!

Edit: I don’t get the name brand, mine is labeled Dextroamphetamine-Amphetamine.

I'm a teacher. Several of my students are having to go without. It's been rough. Good luck to you!

Nice, is your experience with the wait time when it’s on order typically a few days?

Found a CVS in Smithfield that has enough of my 15mg XR, so might call my doctor tomorrow and have it sent there. Just hoping if i do they don’t run out and end up in same situation😭

But if wait times have been <1week i might just wait and hope that the cvs on admiral gets it soon.

I’ve never had an issue. I get mine at Providence Place CVS. Yeah a nightmare to go to, but they’ve always had my addy

Edit: also, are you using generic or brand-specific, and IR or XR? I used to take Vyvanse Xr and never had an issue with that either.

My advice is to always pick a CVS that is not in a town with a large college population. You might have to drive 15 minutes to get your script filled but you won't have to wait several days for it.

Which reminds me I should ask my doctor if I can pick up a paper script tomorrow so I don't have to do the pharmacy shuffle.

None in Warwick, either.

According to what I can find in my texts, looks like: doctor calls, that day I get a text that either says “rx is ready” or “we’re placing a special order for rx dblahblahblah” & I get a follow up text stating it’s ready within 3-5 days.

My doctor asks that patients call for refills a few days before they are out. I believe (though not sure) they are able to call it in early, but it cannot be picked up until refill date. Perhaps your prescriber could coordinate with you this way?

Anecdotally, my buddy from Jersey City had such awful luck getting his script called in that his doctor finally just gave him a paper one to schlepp around from pharmacy to pharmacy with. Obviously that sounds like a nightmare but I guess a potential option, if you have access to transportation / time to do all that legwork.

I also have a friend whose doc just started writing him scripts for 20mg IR so he could split them & not fear running out. The pharmacist mentioned to him upon pickup that they’ve noticed a lot of patients with their scripts doubled for this exact reason. However, this is probably unhelpful with the XR you take….

What a pain in the ass!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s actually a good idea. My pharmacy told me that McKesson is completely out. Cvs uses cardinal for their retail and McK for their online. I’ll try calling cardinal tomorrow - I doubt they will share info about the actual meds but they may be able to say which pharmacies they distribute to

Do you mind sharing what manufacturer they gave you? It should be in the bottom corner of the label, NDC# also works. Certain fillers cause a reaction for some people. Thanks!

Which pharmacy?

I messaged Cardinal via Twitter in Spetember regarding this issue. They told me to call their CS team. I never called the number but I'm pasting it below. It appears to be different than the phone numbers listed on their website; maybe it could help.
