They said they were going to compensate me for the damage, so I’m gonna foot them the bill for the cost of the paint correction. Still need to find a place to get that done though.

At the least, make sure that you document all conversations with the dealership (preferably via email). Then you have legal recourse if they try to back out of any deal they make with you. Also, have you informed your automobile insurance provider? I'm sure they would be able to help on many levels

Haven’t done that yet, don’t think it will be necessary though (hopefully). Thankfully, my mother is a higher-up at the dealership I took it to and I told her about what happened and she reported it to the top guy there. We’ll see what happens but I think in this case they’ll be true to their word, my mother was just as pissed lmao.

I’ll see if they can quote me over the phone tomorrow. If I get it done, I definitely want it done right regardless. And since this dealership screwed my shit up, I couldn’t care about the cost at this point since they’re paying for it. Appreciate the recommendation.

If the dealer is paying, go to the best place possible. Some dealer-attached body shop that generally does insurance work will generally be the highest quality and highest cost option, compared to a smaller paint shop that focuses more on self-paid paint jobs where the pressure will be to lower costs.

I don't have any specific experience to make a recommendation, but I wonder if a good strategy would be to call a different dealer for your brand of car and ask where they send their body/paint work.

I don’t recommend providence auto body. Had body work done to my car after I was hit and the paint ended up peeling off within a few weeks. Seems they didn’t scuff the area before painting so it didn’t stick. Refused to repair it too claiming it wasn’t their fault, but there’s a perfectly straight vertical line where the accident took place!!

That or they use microfiber towels that have been through the ringer. When I was a young and new detailer at a dealership, I accidentally used the wrong microfiber and put a bunch of swirls into a brand new black Macan Turbo. Never made that mistake again.

... listen, I'm not a lawyer so go and talk to one - if this damage happened while the car was in the dealership's care, then it is their responsibility to make it right.
