If it makes you feel better, most people in today's economy could use an extra $100 so there's a good chance it helped someone. Hopefully your good karma comes back to you.

Thanks! Yeah I agree, everyone is in a pinch. Hopefully with the holidays my loss can be someone's gain.

If this helps, when I was 10 I found a hundred dollar bill in a parking lot and it was one of the greatest days of my life.

I went straight to Child World and had a spending spree. I bought so many Madballs and other crap I can’t remember.

When I was like 23, I found a $50 bill blowing along the sidewalk as I was going to meet friends. It happened at the exact moment my mom was telling me my grandmother had a stroke that I picked it up and said like "Ohhh nice!" or something.

I still have not lived that moment down.

I found a $10 outside of Tom's Market in tiverton back when it opened and was pretty thrilled. To a high-school kid it was a lot of money.

I found it and brought it right to the customer service desk. I thought about turning it in, but changed my mind and asked to exchange it for 100 1 dollar bills. I then drove straight to the Foxy Lady in Providence. Thanks so much.

Seriously, this is the way I think of it too - hoping it makes a difference for someone. I never take my quarter back from the shopping cart at Aldi either. I just leave the cart there so someone can have a lucky day 😊

Last year I found $100 on the ground in stop n shop in Westerly. At first I thought it was a prank, then looked around to see if anyone just dropped it. No one was around and I still feel guilty not trying to turn it in but don’t trust people who may have claimed it. At least that’s what I’m telling myself to make myself feel better.

According to one of my favorite philosophers, one of the highest forms of charity is giving without knowing who the recipient is, and the recipient not knowing who the donor is. I think you’ve gotten yourself some good karma and totally made someone’s day.

You could ask the service desk if anyone turned it in! People do actually do that. If not with a lucky stranger, I’d rather see it in your pocket than Stop and Shops :)

Ah not gonna worry about it. Not worth it to drive back over there and get let down. Whoever has it now owns it. Finders keepers or something to that effect.
