Anthony's Seafood in Middletown. Not near 95, but it was on Diners Drive-ins and Dives once for what its worth. If you're just driving through, going through the island would probably be a nicer drive anyway.

if OP is looking for rhode island - not new england - chowder, George’s is great as is Fins Harborside in EG.

Crow's Nest in Apponaug, maybe 5 minutes off of I-95.

Finn’s Harborside in East Greenwich is probably the best option close to 95. There are other great restaurants in East Greenwich worth checking out.
