I usually work Sundays and I actually have today off for once. It's supposed to be on and off raining all day though so my original plan of hiking is mostly out.

Recently moved here, so still new-ish to the state. I live in Providence, but have a car and can drive wherever. Not really into the movies and I did the RISD art museum last month (before learning it's free in Sundays).

So, any ideas? It would be me and my girlfriend, late 20s, no kids. Not looking for anything particular, just not sure if there's like a go-to or something cool we can check out in RI during a rainy day.

Danke

EDIT: we ended up going to Level99 in the Natick mall in MA, it sounded cool and it was a ton of fun. But thanks all for the recommendations!

The Providence Artisans Holiday preview market is at Waterfire Arts center today. Also the PVD Flea at Farm fresh which besides the flea vendors has a lot of great businesses inside (beer, coffee).

The glassed-in Botanical Gardens at Roger Williams are lovely to stroll around in. Then you could drive around the park to get an idea of what it's got. The Natural History Museum is like $3 admission and is worth a visit. The Planetarium. (The Zoo another day) and Apsaras Restaurant (mixed South East Asian) is inexpensive, excellent, and close to the Elmwood entrance to the park.

We actually have done the Natural History Museum, it was a ton of fun. Really appreciated the adult scavenger hunt. Should check out Apsaras and the planetarium part another day. Thanks!

There is the Electromagnetic Pinball Museum & Restoration in Pawtucket if you are into pinball and old-time arcade games.

Check out the Axe Bar at R1 karting in Lincoln, lots of fun. Just call ahead to see if there is availability. Or go old school and go bowling

As in, axe-throwing? I didn't know there was one there. Adding to the list for sure

I love bowling on a day like this. There’s EP lanes, CW lanes at the Lincoln mall, or if you want duckpin bowling, Dudek’s in Warren

Duckpin! The lanes on elm wood (rebranded as bowlero are also good for regular bowling).

Probably late, but there's still time! RISD Museum and the Providence Athenaeum are great on a rainy day!

RISD nature lab is pretty cool if you’re into taxidermy bugs and stuff. Also love a stroll through Jordan’s Jungle on a day like this.

Probably late, but for the next rainy day, you might want to go climbing-I prefer Rockspot Lincoln, but Rockspot Prov and Central Rock Warwick are decent too. Lincoln will just give you the most options (top-rope and bouldering) as a beginner.
