TBH I'm not sure gas users are going to make out any better than oil users this winter... I keep my apartment at around 62 and filled up my tank before the cold started... I haven't even gotten to 7/8ths of a tank yet. If I was heating with gas though I probably would be spending $$$ more. My apartment is also in a really old ass building in a historical district, I do what I can to insulate but there isn't a lot to be done to modernize it.

Absolutely 100% true . Oil burns slow. I’ve been on oil the past few years and it is 100% better than a gas meter. National grid are the biggest thieves, one less meter for them the better iMO . It’s easier to control oil usage , oil has gone down on my last two deliveries I’m getting a delivery tomorrow and it’s even cheaper than last time.
