I recently moved from NY to RI and have been thrust into the world of camera based speeding tickets which seems to be everywhere here. I got one in the mail at my NY address while I was in the process of moving. But now that I have completely moved, I don’t have access to my NY mail anymore and am yet to change my car registration from NY to RI. So I’m guessing any speeding tickets I might’ve got is still being sent to my NY address. Is there a site I can goto to check for any RI speeding tickets for my lic plate regardless of the state it’s registered to?

Have you set up mail forwarding from NY to RI? I did and while it did take a bit longer to get mail I was still able to get things on time. You can do it online via the postal service for $1 and it’s good for a year. Good safety net in case you have other things mailed to the old address

I did set up mail forwarding. But I did that only after I moved here (about 4 days after I’d been driving around) so I worry that a ticket might’ve been sent to my NY address prior to me doing the mail forward. Is there no way I can look up my lic plate number in the RI motor vehicle records or something?

I'd maybe ask the cities with them (Providence, EP, Pawtucket) if the RMV can't provide the info.

Have you been not allowed to register?

No I just never got around to doing it yet. It’s just been a few weeks since I’ve moved

You can call the Municipal Court of the town where you received the ticket.

I went to the website that I got the previous ticket from, but it asks for the ticket number. There is no way to just find out if I’ve been issued any tickets by giving my Lic plate number
