I live very out of state now. What's the general price difference?

RI is a bit higher than MA. Meanwhile Michigan is like 80% less than either, if you don't mind crossing a few state lines.

Did you mean to say Maine? Never heard of people from here driving to Michigan when some of the best weed in the country is 2 hours away in Maine.

Indeed. I don't partake but its interesting to watch the prices buck the supply/demand trend. Makes me wonder when the northeast's dispensaries will prices correct after a period of time.

They will, and have been. Maine is already insanely cheap, and prices in MA are starting to go down as well. RI will follow suit.

I've been watching local MA prices for a few months, and they seem to be very slowly sliding downwards. I think it's going to take a fair bit of time for this region's prices to find a stable "low" point.

In Washington state, $40 for an 1/8 will get you top shelf bud. And that’s after tax.

I'm not sure the conversion to edibles, but I walked into a Michigan shop with $300 to stock up, ordered a bunch of stuff, and it was $60.

That's pretty high honestly, RI is already there.

1/8's in Maine are $20-$25.

Why does Maine have such cheap, good quality weed and we dont?

HeadyBeersBrah t1_iz7i7oa wrote

They allowed a lot of dispensaries and caregivers to get licenses. We limited both here, and only had 3 stores for the longest time (up until 5 days ago). In Maine I drive past 6 stores to get to the one I want. There was no competition here, they can sell us crap weed for premium prices because a lot of people don't have access to anything else.

Grow your own if you can.

That's expensive as hell. In MA you can get an 1/8 of top shelf bud 30%+ thc for $25 after taxes and all

Lol where?

Nova Farms often carries $20 1/8ths. After taxes, the final price is close to $25.

MA is around there, sometimes cheaper. You can get 1/2 of shake for $65, or $100 for bud. Some strains fetch more, but after a point, 25% THC is 25% THC no matter the flavor.

It kind of depends if you have your RI license for it cause it comes out cheaper to buy in RI if you have the license cause no taxes also some dispensaries give extra discount if your on medicaid and or disability

LustUnlust t1_iz8w0wr wrote

Which shops have the Medicaid /disability discount

sarah_t420 t1_izamvs3 wrote

Idk about all of them but the Slater Compassion center in providence does they also give you points every time you spend a certain amount of money and you can put them toward free prerolls and stuff

Are you sure there are no taxes, or just LESS taxes? I haven’t bought ri medical in years but I did recall paying a tax.

1

sarah_t420 t1_izg6ycm wrote

Oh im sorry yeah i put that wrong you do pay tax buts its just the normal 7% instead the i think its 27% without medical card

1

darkrom t1_izg71a3 wrote

Yeah which is weird since mass medical has no tax at all.

1

sarah_t420 t1_izg7jpb wrote

Yeah i would shop mass if they honored other states licenses but they dont want to it sucks, but for me with the discounts cover a little more than the tax so if your on disability or social security and have your license it ends up not being to bad

1

darkrom t1_izgf6og wrote

I also think RI has far better quality than mass, so that is a factor to consider too.
