Dee’s deli

I need to get to Dee’s and try theirs out. Been a loyal sandwich hut guy but they keep coming up as a solid grinder.

It’s not even close. This place is the best. And it’s a proper hole-in-the-wall.

It's Dee's Deli. They buy fresh bread everyday for their sandwiches and close when they run out of bread. It's Dee's fucking deli.

Italian Corner in East Providence on Rt 6 is HEAVENLY. Even that oddball Guy Fieri loves it.

Someone asked this with less specificity asking "best Italian sub?"

I said r/Italy and was downvoted to oblivion 🤣

Where is this place?

Sorry didn't see your message! So there's two locations;

1253 N Main St, Providence, RI 02904

245 Carpenter St, Providence RI 02903

I HIGHLY recommend you get the allitalla and then wash that bitch down with a good ol fashioned yacht club soda!

BONUS: did you know that yacht club soda has been around for over a century and has their main office/store in north Providence? You can go there and get any flavor you want plus some swag!

2239 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, RI 02911

If your answer to this is anything but Sandwich Hut, then either you've never been to Sandwich Hut or you have COVID and can't taste things.

I can’t believe I scrolled through this entire comment thread and not one person mentioned Pauly Penta’s. I love the deluxe from Sandwich hut, but the Italian G from Pauly P’s on a hard roll is definitely equal but different. Sandwich hut has a traditional vinaigrette dressing, but Pauly P’s uses a balsamic. Very solid sandwich

Is Home Town Heroes still open? It says they’re permanently closed on google

I guess they closed. That’s so sad. I went in October again and as always my sub was awesome!

A large cheeseburger sub from ricottis and a whalers after a long summer run through Colt State is the stuff of gods.

Stop and Shop best value at $7.99 for a 16" Italian sub, better tasting options available but not at this price range. The one at Market Basket is trash even though its cheaper and they make it for you on the spot.

You’re gonna read Sandwich Hut all over this thread, but, while it is good, the hype it gets will leave you disappointed. I’m not blown away by it by any stretch.

I try not to be hyperbolic, so I won't do that for the rest of the day after this: I'd rather eat literal garbage than the Sandwich Hut version.

I am genuinely baffled why so many people praise it so much. I thought I was crazy before I met the first friend that felt the same as me.

Do you have another recommendation? I don't love an Italian sub but my husband does!

Proof-Variation7005 t1_izjnil1 wrote

Tommy's Super Italian toasted is the best I've had so far locally. The ingredient portions are great but I maybe not the best quality deli meats. I haven't tried the Cranston one yet though.

I'm still searching. The best one I've ever had was in a weird deli attached to a liquor store in Hyde Park, MA.
