From what I've heard through others asking the same question, there's literally nowhere in this state to do so. There are no public lands that allow it so you pretty much have to know someone who will allow you on their private property.

Try Bradford Preserve

Bradford in westerly? If so that’s definitely not legal

Yeah but I don’t think cops would try to chase dirt bikes through the woods with police cars

Not a dirt biker myself but the nearest may be Freetown state forest in Massachusetts

I am interested to know this as well. ATVs would be great too.

Check out Mass for sure ! Be 100% positive your not traveling on peoples property ( power lines sometimes come close ) I use too 4x4 with a group of Land Rover enthusiasts and we got a shot gun pulled out on us over “ who’s land is it anyway “ in Mass.

If the bike has a plate then Pachaug state park in Connecticut. Many KTM can be plates though I hear state is cracking down on that too. Something about the KTM MSO makes them easier to get plated. If you want to ride at an MX track you could join the Central Cycle Club in CT. There is also a track in Richmond RI that doesn’t require membership. RI is so hard to dirt bike legally.

Nope. Unfortunately the state shut it down to off road vehicles. Used to have a lot of fun riding in that sand.

Interesting the white people in northern RI are super offended by the kids in providence breaking the law by riding atvs but sooo supportive of riding them in the streets to wherever they're trying to ride in Cumberland and Smithfield. More danger in prov for sure but huge double standard

How come it has to be made into this divisive bullshit race issue and we just can't have a place or places for everyone to ride safely?

bungocheese t1_izsj0b3 wrote

We absolutely should! But the stark difference in reactions is pretty race based

Are you serious?

3

bungocheese t1_izs4xgq wrote

Yep. What's the difference? Law wise it's still operating a motor vehicle illegally. I admitted it's more dangerous on city streets

How fast and hard do you think those small town cops would crack down the minute some kids from South Providence start tearing through their town?

Danger has nothing to do with it. Plenty of casualties off roading in the woods!

Arcadia, in South County.

Nope. Occasionally when the rhody rovers get a permit for an event but even that’s not easy.
