Does anyone know of any reputable coin evaluation spots in Rhode Island, or close in mass? I found a crazy old coin and I’m trying to figure out how much it’s worth.

Dave is a good dude and knows his stuff too. Very fair. I’m in the industry and I’d trust him most.
New England coin exchange in Cranston gave me a good price for some stuff I found. They wound up paying me more than the price they had initially quoted, because the value of gold went up while I mad up my mind about selling.
This. Do not go to a pawn shop this guy will give you the most accurate appraisal
Post some pictures OP let’s see what you got I’m into old coins might be able to give you a ballpark
I don’t have it with me, but it’s a 1922 Liberty coin and the lettering is visible!
A 1922 QUARTER?
Yes lol
… they didn’t make any quarters in 1922. It’s probably modified after the fact, my .25 cents lol
It’s a dollar coin!
Nice, worth $30 and up depending on the grade.
I second this question. For some reason, my late father collected a bunch of shit like that
I went to coin shop years ago on Newport Ave in Rumford, but I'm sorry I forgot the name of the shop. The owner helped me get some quarters my Dad needed for his collection
Gendron’s pawn in west Warwick, right off bald hill near pep boys. Their good guys and won’t screw ya on the price
New England Coin Exchange right next to T’s in Cranston. By the stadium. I’m into coins and precious metals as a hobby, I’ve driven to almost all (with the exception of 1 or 2 in south county) from here to Attleboro and Seekonk. This guys the best around.
Try and go at off times though, that place can get pretty busy for the one person to handle.
Figure out what you have and then look for the same thing on ebay.
Generally speaking, coin shops are going to screw you.

I’ve dealt with Arlington Coin on Gansett Ave in Cranston in the past and found them fair. But I have never used them for appraisal.
If it’s one coin you can DM me if you want and I might be able to at least let you know if it is worth getting looked at.
