Hello hello, I’ll be visiting Bristol,Rhode Island this March for a photoshoot/solo spring break trip. I’m looking for any suggestions on food, drinks, things to do in that area or really any part of the state, I’m willing to drive. I’m also wondering what it’s like for POC that live/visit there. Just wanna know what I’m getting myself into since I don’t know much about the state yet. Any advice/suggestions would be lovely. 😁

My usual suggestions:

Providence:

  1. A photo at the Brown University gates (College/Prospect) and another at the state capitol

  2. Seven Stars Bakery for coffee

  3. Al Forno’s (best pizza honors and award from the Italian government)

  4. Greg’s Chocolate cake, yes, get a whole cake

  5. PV Donuts (1 each Masala, Passion Fruit, and Boston Cream)

  6. Walk down Benefit Street

  7. Check out the mural on Friendship Street

  8. Theater at Trinity

  9. Take out from Pastiche

  10. Ice skating down town open air rink

  11. Pizza on Federal Hill, deep dish Sicilia’s

Day trip loop to DeWolfe Tavern in Bristol, Ocean Ave scenic drive in Newport (you can park at LaSalle to walk the cliff walk if weather permits), Thames Street cobblestones in Newport, Beavertail in Jamestown, Have drinks/apps at the Shelter Harbor Inn, go to the Umbrella Factory, a stop in Wickford, Take a photo of yourselves at the Temple of Music, Visit the flamingos at the zoo, Visit Chepachet, and/or Coffee Depot in Warren.

Add pizza strips, coffee syrup, Del’s, chowdah, and New York System for the win.

While I'm not POC, I don't think you'll have any issues. Bristol is cool.. if you like old sail boats visit the Herrshoff Museum

No problem. Love telling folks about our pretty nice state. Bear in mind that March is not really spring here. It can be nice and sunny or snow and nor'easters. I will hope you get a few of the nice ones.

Also, if you're willing to drive, Beavertail Park in Jamestown is one of my favorite places in RI. If it's warm enough, take a picnic.

Drive defensively! We are crazy drivers.
