Help me understand the thought process that goes into buying a dirt bike without thinking about what you will actually do with it?

Buttonwoods Road in Richmond, next to the town Department of Public Works yard. It's a private site but open to the public not sure how it works but could be worth checking out.

yes, they have a facebook page, Buttonwoods MX. I think they are closed for winter. Its a JDay/MX type of track that you pay a daily fee to use. RI is a lousy place for dirtbiking unfortunately.

Exeter seems to have a lot of dirt bike riders, but I could be wrong.

Technically I'm not sure there are any legal places to ride in RI.

Untechnically you should go check out Big River Management Area.

Untechnically he shouldn’t, since riding is prohibited, a dick move, and might get you shot at by an antsy DEM officer.

Not legal, unfortunately, even though in the 70's maybe earlier a dirt bike rider cut a trail there.

I'm not so sure, check these out:

I did some volunteer work at acadia and there was an outbuilding full of dirt bike competition trophies. While I was there, I saw a few guys unload their bikes in front of department of environment workers and tear off out into the woods.

Maybe I'm confused with Pachaug State Forest

Pachaug allows any license plated bikes, but only on certain trails or dirt roads. I think its a big loop they have for bikes.

I know someone who used a bicycle vanity plate for riding in Pachaug.

You are correct. The red building on Escoheag Hill Rd. That is for trials bikes only. I think but don't know if you have to be a member of the RI Trials Club. Now that location has hosted world championships for trials, and i think some national championships. Again its trials bikes only.
