It's upsetting how awful it has become and the employees fucking agree that RISE corporate ruined it

Mmmmm…only perk from Summit days were the budtenders comp budgets. Used to get a free .5 pre roll here and there just for being polite. Other than that, it was a shit show beforehand. If they would get a grip on the medical side and start treating rec as equals (humans) it would be a step forward.

We all get treated like cattle there now. I miss seeing the product under the counter. Now it's no different (in irritation) than an apple store

Not so much a dispensary, as a product, but Betty's Bedtime Eddies are fucking incredible. Best sleep product I have ever used, and its not close. They are 10mg, where as the average edible seems to be 5mg. Make sure you have plenty of time to sleep, or you will definitely feel "hungover" in the morning, don't take one if you have to be up in 5 hours, but if you can do a solid 8 hours, they can give you an amazing 8 hours.

I've found them on different dispensaries at different times, but all of the big ones have carried them at some point or another. As of today, Slater has some.

excellent, thanks for the suggestion. 10 mg would likely be too intense for this person but looks like they have a 5 mg. thanks for recommending a specific brand that I can find locally

I take 5mg/5mg THC/CBD gummies 1/2 at a time for this reason of cutting down the dose rate. I’ve never had a good THC tolerance even as a 200lb+ guy, and those put me to bed most nights with no problems.

I go up to DDM Cannabis in Blackstone, MA for what it’s worth

Getbentstaybent t1_j61qs1l wrote

Can confirm. The ones with melatonin THC/CBD knock me out nicely and not too groggy a start in the AM. (200+ lbs so meter dosage appropriately, my folks split one and it works.)

Also a fan. My son recommended them to me for sleep. Game changer.

Solar Cannabis Slumber gummies. Nothing helps me sleep. These do.

All the others sleep gummies have melatonin, which just makes me sweat and have weird dreams

Northeast Alternatives in Fall River has the best prices out of everywhere in the area for flower. I used to find that Nature’s Medicines in Fall River had the best edible prices, but haven’t checked them out in a while

I drive from Westerly to Northeast Alternatives. It’s the best pricing and I like the selection. The staff is very helpful!

Ri_Surf t1_j64mhu8 wrote

Wow that’s pretty far but If you’re buying a bunch it’s totally worth it. I have Greenleaf nearby, but I refuse to pay their prices so I drive from Newport to NEA and it takes me 25 mins

without knowing the person’s experience with THC, smoking habits it’s hard to recommend a product. However CBN is what you’re looking for. So weather it’s being inhaled or ingested look for products with a high CBN count.

1

RandallFaraday OP t1_j61hi1j wrote

hasn’t smoked in like… 40 years so probably more on the edibles side of things. the CBN recommendation is VERY helpful. I had been looking at ones that had melatonin in them and read that basically they do nothing. and melatonin does nothing for me anyway. but there are a few brands with CBN that I’ve found. thanks!

Weirdly CBN gummies kept me awake and gave me the WORST sleep of my life. Ymmv

Low-Dragonfly-5352 t1_j65ghym wrote

Some people can be overly sensitive to CBN and only need a small amount to reap the benefits. Even taking too much for someone that’s not sensitive can result in a kind of hangover. My suggestion is to stick with it and allow your body to adjust. I know in the moment it sucks but that’s why you’re trying it to begin with, you can’t sleep. You may need 5-7 days to get used to it or find the dose that fits your needs. Like any other new medication the name of the game is low and slow.

2

Theproducerswife t1_j65ij6k wrote

Very true. I was so surprised that it had the opposite effect bc so many people hype it! Just don’t want OP to go all in before trying it first.

Fine-Loquat t1_j6383aa wrote

I like the Seawitch products, they are available at a few of the RI dispensaries. Their honey and drinks are what I take to sleep, very high quality products.

Coincel_pro t1_j63gun4 wrote

Might be too much for them right now but any of the vape pens with a pure Indica. I like them over the gummies because they hit far faster and more reliably so you can take a quick inhale and lie down and you'll feel it in 5-10 mins and feel great falling asleep shortly after.

That said they are strong so if its someone totally new to THC it will be a bit much. If they are a lightweight but know what to expect you can get used to it pretty fast using it before bed. This was basically me, total pot lightweight, never could enjoy it until I could get ahold of a consistently dosed product to take in exactly as much as I wanted.

CBN drops. There is a cbd store on the east side of providence that sells them.

Northeast alternatives has a sleepy time tincture also.

You could try Delta-9 gummies.

My MIL has trouble sleeping as well and is in her 80’s. She doesn’t want to get ‘high’, so I got her some D9 gummmies from cbdmd and she loves them. Sleeps well, stops her foot pain and she hasn’t fallen or been off balance at all.

Let me be blunt. It’s important that you weed out all the bad alternatives, or you could see your dreams go up in smoke. Of course, you always have the option to roll with things, but that could result in you feeling less than lit.

This is a half-baked comment. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side of the fence, but once you decide to shit or get off the pot, let me know bud.

Dispensary’s are trash.

Mother-Pen t1_j63r3x5 wrote

I used to think this but not so much anymore. Dispensaries on the west coast are incredibly cheap with nice and knowledgeable staff. That’s because they’ve had close to 10 years to legally operate. RI and MA dispensaries are on their way and MA prices have already dropped considerably.

4

HeadyBeersBrah t1_j63tk7s wrote

RI has a lot of catching up tp do. We suffered from only allowing 3 dispensaries statewide, there was effectively no competition.
